The Viterra pricing deal that just came out is attractive enough that I would do some of you are less than 70% Old Crop and less than 25% New Crop.
I’m not of the belief that we won’t get these prices again without the Matching requiring but each price is good enough that you could go to 75% and 25% at this $14 / $12 matching Feb / Sep Price.
Keep in mind we likely will see some very attractive late August prices that could be well over $12 but a very good starting point.
I’m choosing not to sell quite yet partly because I can’t make it a general recommendation as not everyone has Old Crop tonnes to match with but I have green lighted a few calls already of producers who do.
Text with questions.
Continue to text whether you will be in attendance at the Marketing meeting tomorrow night. Another iPad giveaway and will also be your first opportunity to influence the Rotation Rater (due out in mid-late Feb) as we will be starting to go through a potential acreage scenario and attempting to dial in some estimated baseline yields. Thanks.

Corn carry is near pipeline and Wheat also well below average guess and last months report. Beans almost Neutral.
Good report overall but probably not strong enough on its own to repair most of the chart damage to date. Continued dryness in US and a shift away from good conditions in S.America will be needed to rally back toward any highs.
But this report may lay the groundwork for a support line in Canola to build on in the coming months before Brazil and Argentina come off.
We may get some decent traction out of Corn and Wheat for both the Durum and Pea markets. Price action over the next few trading days will be our tell.
Targets will resume next week but looking closely at doing a Canola sale in front of big USDA on Friday. I am almost certainly going to go to 65-70% sold tomorrow, so anyone nervous can pull the trigger today as $13.22 is a good price. There is tremendous volatility ahead in Canola as we will almost certainly run nearly to empty, but that’s baked into the cake now and prices still deteriorating. That is not Bullish price action. There is very good reason to hold 30% back to play this tremendous upside potential of a 1-2% SUR. But it’s only potential, Beans has potential to lose $1.50 and that means $12 Canola. Maybe even 11.50′. More tomorrow.

6 of the 9 rooms at the Raddisson are filled for Monday night (the 7th). Anyone else I interested in one?
Supper is set for 6:00pm at Tony Roma’s (Kitty Corner to the Travelodge, where Syngenta Hospitality is being held). Greg (Kostal) and I will be there before 6 but he won’t be going to the Syngenta event so if you want to catch him for a bit, don’t be too late for supper. Ideally, you should be checking into the Raddisson around 5 to be at Tony Roma’s by 6 – Especially if you plan to cab-it over.
There is also still a spot open for the 2nd night DuPont supper on Tuesday night.
Please reply via text to confirm your Monday (and/or Tuesday) rooms or to take one of the open ones as I will be cancelling the extras on the weekend or I have to pay for the empty ones.
Also confirm if your in for supper either night and if you have anyone extra with you which is completely fine but I need to know ahead. I have 14 booked in for supper as of now.
Please get back to me by tomorrow afternoon. Thanks and see you there.
